The history of MUST dates back to early 1960s when Mongolian Government had a very ambitious goal to develop light industry and mining sector.
MUST is the most prestigious and largest national engineering higher education institute in Mongolia. Since its origin in 1959, MUST has been home to highly-skilled scholars, engineers and students who have been drawn from all over Mongolia to teach, perform, create, and study. We have achieved local and international recognition in a wide range of areas – including engineering sciences, education, business, social work, and public service.
MUST aims to build a university for the entrepreneurial world. We endeavor to become a leading university in Asia. We will do our best to educate students as global citizens who can be valuable assets to the world science and regional economy.

MUST has 12 affiliated schools and two branch schools. We offer 294 undergraduate degree programs. For master and doctoral programs there is one graduate school. Currently MUST has 20,000 students and over 800 faculty members.

Campus
The main campus of MUST and most of affiliated schools are located in Ulaanbaatar, Capital city of Mongolia. MUST has four campuses in Darkhan, Edenet, Dalanzadgad, and Murun.
